How Co-Productions Work

Co-productions with Spain follow international treaties or the Spanish Film Act regulations. By partnering with a Spanish production company, your project can qualify as a national production, unlocking the same funding and tax benefits as local films.

Financial Advantages

Co-productions under international agreements can access:

Co-Production Requirements

  • The project must qualify as a national film in all co-producing countries.

    • Two actors.
    • One technical creative.
  • Post-production should preferably take place in the majority co-producer’s country, but can be completed within the EU.

Even if your contribution is strictly financial, co-productions are possible if:

  • The project is approved by the majority co-producer’s country.
  • Financial input ranges between 10% and 25% of the total budget.
